Need a quick pick-me-up during your mid-morning or late afternoon? If I don’t have a smoothie in the morning, it’s definitely during my 3 – 4 p.m. slump that one is called for.
I absolutely crave the fresh taste, the energy I get, how full it makes me feel and how good these drinks are for me.
Smoothies are versatile, allowing you to create something great out of virtually any ingredients you have on hand. Posting some of what I make along the way is just a helpful go-to when you don’t have time to mess around. This morning was one of those morning where no messing around was allowed. Here is an easy go-to for me that also goes over great with the girls. IF I have any left over they go into my silicone popsicle molds for a cool after school or dinner snack.
Throw these ingredients into your blender:
- 8 ounces coconut milk
- 1 date
- handful spinach
- ice cubes
- 1 /2 cup frozen raspberries
- 2 T protein powder
- banana
Typically by eyeballing it, my smoothies make about a 16-20 ounce drink. That is more than enough to fill this belly.
I often make these as I’m about to walk out the door as they are easy to pour into one of my mason jars with a straw and off we go. Not sure if I told you, but Chad made me a bunch of these and we use them daily, or rather, multiple times per day with reusable straws. These straws and cups are a huge family favorite and make drinking even the latest smoothie, that mom thinks is great though everyone else disagrees, a better thing.
