You know breakfast is the most important meal, right? It’s the one that kickstarts our metabolism, gets our bellies thinking about what healthy foods we’ll eat next in our day and gives us the energy to do what we do as moms.
I have a handy breakfast meal routine we follow every week and it works so well for us. There’s no muss and fuss about who wants what for breakfast and when. I serve breakfast at 8 and everyone knows what “breakfast day” it is.
For oatmeal day I have grown to LOVE these little guys. They are so easy to pair with a boiled egg, or quick scrambled eggs, or warmed up alone with some pastured butter and maple syrup.
They have also become an easy and favorite go to as a snack or to pack in my girls lunches. It’s got a little protein from the egg and flax seeds, but mostly I love the mild flavor, how it fills my belly and gives me energy to boot.
For toppings I do a few rows of craisins, a few rows of raisins, an my personal favorite are the rows of chocolate chips with ground walnuts ( because I must find a space for that food group every day-the chocolate, not the walnuts).
For those mornings when I’m on the go, and I’ve made a juice and I grab one of these, it’ll hold me for a couple hours until my mid morning snack time.
If you’ve got some breakfast favorites to share, please leave a comment below to share the love.
