Welcome Guest blogger Stacie Whitney
Why Mother’s Fire? I meet so many mothers who are depleted, stressed, overwhelmed. Having been there myself, I can truly relate – it really pulls at my heartstrings. I’ve discovered another way of being, and my life has totally changed – I love motherhood now, I love business, I love life, and I feel creatively fulfilled. I want other Mamas to feel this too – so this one’s for all mothers, who do and hold so much, it’s a reminder to keep connection with what lights you up – with your Mother’s Fire.
Tell me, in all your ancient dreams
and little girl fantasies,
Did you ever imagine
It would be like this?
When you took that first step
From maiden to mother
Did you know it would be
So totally consuming,
That you’d never sleep the same again
And never love another so deeply?
It doesn’t always go how we imagined
But then, the incarnation of the divine into physical form
Is not a cake –
It’s not some recipe we can follow
To make sure the final product is
Fluffy and moist
It’s more like tossing into a giant mixer
Pieces of the cosmos,
And infinite love
And then being present with..
What comes next.
Tie that little string around your finger
So you never forget –
Though you are forever changed
As a mother
You are also more important than you were before
You are the giver of life, love
You are sustenance
And if your own river comes into drought
Then all who drink from you will suffer
So drink, Mama, fill your own cup!
Create, and dance and swirl
and continue to do the magical work
That satiates you with life and light
Allow yourself to become who you truly are
Find and tend your fire
As a mother
A precious soul
Who weaves her magical web in this world
In doing so,
You enable others
To become more than they ever knew they were.
