How to De-Clutter Before Baby Arrives

Are you the type of person who will make a list of things you’ve already done in order that you can cross them off? I will admit I do that when I feel like I’m not getting anything done.

I make lists for myself, I make lists for my husband and I make lists for our daughters. Our oldest gets a written list and our youngest gets a written list with little drawings so she can understand what there is to do as she’s learning to read.

I think even if we lived in a bigger house I would be a dedicated De-Cluttering Diva. Nothing organizes my brain better during a moment of confusion, frustration or angst than diving head-on into the linen closet, the crafting area or our basement storage area. God forbid I start rearranging furniture. It’s really bad if I start rearranging furniture, because it doesn’t stop with one room!

This is all occurs when I’m not pregnant, though when I am it gets cranked up a notch or two for sure. We’ve all experienced nesting as a rite of passage toward becoming mothers, though wouldn’t it have been nice to have a checklist or a way to go about the chaos?

My friend Heidi DeCoux over at Clear Simple Marketing, was one of the speakers at my Empower Your Pregnancy Online Two-Day Conference back in January. Her presentation was phenomenal if you’re looking at not only de-cluttering, but automating and delegating the laborious tasks that can sometimes consume us.

Check out what she’s got to say (and yes, you can multitask by folding laundry while listening!)

Heidi’s got some great ideas here-what is your favorite way of de-cluttering and staying organized during pregnancy?
