Glyphosate is the active ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup product, which is used widely in U.S. agriculture, sprayed on corn, soybeans, oats, wheat, lentils, chickpeas, and more.
Think about the foods most commonly on your plate at every meal. The average American meal probably contains at least two of those ingredients, maybe three or four. Therefore, we KNOW that this herbicide is making its way into your body and the bodies of everyone eating a standard American diet (heavy on grains and processed foods). They are cheap, easy to access, and addictive. BUT what are the effects of this toxin on your health?
In this video, I explain why this chemical is toxic to our bodies, and how we see that present in our practice members daily. The consumption of large amounts of grains, like bread, are a main contributor to our toxic load.
Chemical farming saves money on the cost of labor to grow our food, but at what cost in the end? The chemicals used to “enhance” the growing process of the soil by changing the chemistry in the ground then show up as changes to both our gut microbiome and neurochemistry.
This chemical is in the bones, ligaments, tendons — fraying the collagen fibers connecting our structure. We see kids in our practice with spinal fractures, tendon tears in the knee, and more — things we shouldn’t see in kids! Their bodies are so toxic that these connective fibers are breaking down.
What can you do?
Look for and support regenerative farming organizations, like Pasture Adickes and Nature’s Pantry Farm. They are working to get the chemicals out of farming and out of the soil, and produce truly healthy food. The way it’s meant to be.
