I have to be honest here because I’m a mom, too.  Sleep training is a touchy subject.  I don’t even like the word training.  The problem is I haven't found a concise way to describe the specific sleep work I do with couples and their little ones, whether they be babies (over 6 weeks) or toddlers.  

  Some people say sleep training isn’t going to happen in an infant or baby, that babies have their own timetable in regards to sleep, and that we should all roll with the punches of new motherhood and sleep deprivation.  I totally get it, though it doesn't always work that well.

I have supported too many new parents who are so sleep deprived that mama is showing signs of postpartum depression or she can't even find time to eat.  Every set of new parents goes through a period where their baby has days and nights mixed up.  It’s totally normal and to be expected. 

What’s really tough is that in this day and age we have so many expectations to meet for ourselves.  We have bills to pay, sick leave we don’t want to dip into, and work we want to jump back into.  Yes, we do want to relish the time we have with our babies and toddlers, though most families I work with have mama going back to work between 10-12 weeks postpartum…and it ain’t always pretty.

My Sleep Training Coaching Plan is an easy to follow, step by step process of figuring out what your baby or toddler is telling us about his/her rhythm.  We work off that rhythm to develop on what we already know.  From there we work through how to put them to sleep without crying it out because in my experience, nobody benefits from that.  It creates more stress and anxiety for the whole family.
