What is Craniosacral Therapy and How Does it Work?

 

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle and noninvasive technique used to release restriction within the craniosacral system. This practice seldom uses more than five grams of pressure and is often sought out for the alleviation of headaches, acid reflux, back pain, chronic fatigue, TMJ, motor coordination issues, connective tissue disorders, autism, learning disabilities, and emotional and stress related difficulties. In my experience and practice it has worked well for infants dealing with reflux, colic, failure to thrive, gas, ear infections and a difficult latch resulting in poor breastfeeding. In pregnant women I have seen this therapy help in the release of tissue, which has allowed the baby in utero to turn from transverse to head down and which had a mom cancel her induction as she went into labor on her own. This therapy is performed fully clothed.

Massage Therapy is a noninvasive form of soft tissue manipulation. Having been trained in Swedish Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Pre & Postnatal Massage Therapy and Relaxation techniques, I can provide a well rounded session to assist in the alleviation of many concerns such as: insomnia, stress and high blood pressure, anxiety, headaches, back pain, chronic pain, TMJ and more. This therapy is performed with the client fully covered by the sheet/blankets I provide except for the area being addressed. A variety of oils or lotions will also be used in this therapy.
